» Storm Water Management/Construction Management
Hansen Aggregates, Clayton, CA

A site inspection of best management practices (BMPs) was conducted to reduce total suspended solids (TSS) from storm water runoff at a quarry with extreme topographic relief. The selected BMPs included decreasing the runoff volumes using an internal infiltration basin, reducing TSS by covering bare slopes with matting, installing riprap in erosion channels, flow diversions and filtration berms along steep unimproved roadways. These runoff and erosion control measures resulted in greatly reduced TSS in runoff.
